Diagnostic testing
A good plan starts with good information. At the clinic we collect samples for lab analysis and run complementary tests that the physician interprets together with your medical history.
Which tests do we offer?
Clinical lab tests: blood count, blood chemistry, hormone and thyroid panels and others, as the physician orders. Dark-field blood microscopy: a drop of capillary blood viewed under the microscope, as a complementary tool.
We also offer a hair DNA test, a VO₂ max test to measure your cardiovascular fitness, and iridology. No complementary test replaces a medical diagnosis; all of them are interpreted in a consultation.

How to prepare
Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment. Bring an ID and a list of the medications and supplements you take.
Lab tests: Fast for 8 to 12 hours (plain water only). No alcohol for 48 hours or intense exercise for 24 hours before. Stop biotin (vitamin B7) 48 hours before, as it can affect some results. Take your usual medications unless your doctor says otherwise. If a urine sample was requested, bring your first morning urine: let the first stream go and collect the midstream portion directly into a sterile container.
Dark-field microscopy: Ideally, fast for 4 hours (plain water allowed). That morning, preferably do not smoke or take coffee, alcohol or supplements. We will take a small blood sample with a finger prick.
Hair DNA test: Come with clean, dry hair, without gel, spray, oils or treatments, and no dye or bleach in the last 2 weeks; if you have dye, let us know which kind of dye and color. We will take 10 to 20 hairs with the root; let us know if your hair is very short.
Precautions
- Follow the fasting instructions for each test.
- Tell us if you take blood thinners or feel faint during blood draws.

Do I need a doctor's order for lab tests?
The clinic's physician orders your tests at your consultation. If you already have an order, mention it when booking.

It depends on the test; we tell you the turnaround time when we take your sample.

Do I need to fast?
For most blood tests, yes: 8 to 12 hours, plain water only.
