IV therapy and detox

IV therapy (IV drips)

IV therapy delivers vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and amino acids directly into the bloodstream through a vein. At MAHŌ Clinic, the physician tailors every formula to you after a consultation.

What is IV therapy?

Because the nutrients go straight into a vein, they do not depend on digestive absorption. IV therapy is used as nutritional support for people with fatigue, stress, recovery from an illness or surgery, or specific nutritional needs.

Our formulas include energy and vitality, immune support, anti-aging, detox and chelation, stress relief, memory and neuro support, skin, hair and nails, pre- and post-surgery, and weight loss support. We also give high-dose IV vitamin C when the physician prescribes it, as complementary support alongside other treatments.

Who is it for?

  • People with persistent fatigue or in recovery.
  • Patients with nutritional deficiencies or absorption problems.
  • Patients being treated for another condition who want nutritional support, always coordinated with their treating doctor.
  • Before and after surgery, when prescribed.

What a session is like

  1. A medical assessment first, then the choice of formula.
  2. Vital signs and IV placement by our nursing staff.
  3. The infusion takes 45 to 90 minutes in one of our five IV chairs.
  4. The number of sessions depends on your medical assessment.

How to prepare

Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment. Bring an ID and a list of the medications and supplements you take.

Do not come fasting: eat a light meal 1–2 hours before and drink 1/2 to 1 L of water in the prior hours. Wear short or loose sleeves. Tell us if you have allergies, are pregnant or take blood thinners.

Precautions

  • Every formula requires a prescription; we do not give IV therapy without an assessment.
  • Tell us if you have kidney or heart disease, are pregnant or take blood thinners.
  • Come well hydrated and having eaten something.

General information only. Every therapy is prescribed after a medical consultation, and results vary from person to person. Our therapies complement, and never replace, the treatment prescribed by your other doctors. Under the medical direction of Dr. Billy K. Martin Wong.
